It is a damn shame that CNN, ABC, CBS or any of the news outlets I know in the United States are horribly unreliable when reporting local and world news. I have to always keep checking the BBC website constantly just to get the important global news that is not reported by our friends at FOX News and other worthless stations who seem more interested in celebrity gossip than in news that really affects our country.

Does anyone know that a journalist from MSNBC is being held hostage in North Korea along with sister on charges that they sneaked into N. Korea territory illegally?

No, I am sure none of you knew this and its not your fault. Its the fault of our faulty news outlets that seem to not give a damn about anyone other than celebrities or fashion.

If I sound a little bitter towards the media, its not without a good and sound reason.

I remember seeing on [info]roleplaysecrets lately that there was a debate going on about what qualifies as a "British Accent".

The anons who I am guessing were Brits, claim there is no such thing as a British accent. English is English and that it's more of an English accent than a supposed British one. Their argument was somewhere on that line but I can't remember most of it as of now since its been a few days since then. So let me just ask my question!

What is the British accent? Is it real or is it something that Americans like I made up? It's a term that gets tossed around a lot and I am curious to know what people think of it.

The anons in RPS! seemed so overwhelmed and upset over this idea of there being a British accent and to be frank, I don't get why.

I know there is a difference from U.K English compared with American English but those differences are subtle in my opinion and are based upon pronunciation and cultural significance.

Therefore, is it politically correct to say that someone from the U.K has a British accent or is that being rude? Is it an impolite term or just the WRONG term to use?

Happy 4th of July everyone!

I hope folks are celebrating it! The United States is probably around 260 years old by now.
I unfortunately do not have anything fun to do today. None of my friends are doing anything and everyone is just working this Saturday.

*sighs*

Anyways, here's a meme.

I haven't done an art post for awhile...

Let me fix that.

Title: Nao - Demon Sketch
Series: ICARO (my newest idea)
Character: Nao
Artist Comment: This is a character sheet for Nao's demon form in my online project, ICARO.

Nao is an androgynous kitsune with no real gender who can transform into two different forms. This form here is the demon form spawned from Nao's original nine-tailed fox form.

In the Kitsunetsuki pic, the red jewel in the middle of Nao's forehead was originally blue but I changed it to red for aesthetic reasons.

The red stripes upon Nao are tattoos.

(Be sure to check out other artworks at my gallery on sheezyart & on storm-artists.

OH, TYRA! Why can't I quit your controversial shows?!

Tyra is interviewing the creator of Ashley Madison, a networking site geared towards married couples who want to cheat on their spouses, as well as interviewing people who actually used the site!

Talk about scandalous~

I need something to tie me over as the Eureka 7 movie loads up.

EGUYGREHGET!!!!

OMG! Studio BONES & Gainax both actually made the Eureka 7 movie! I knew they was going to do one but I didn't keep up on the frickin' news about it at all! I AM WATCHING THE RAW OF IT RIGHT NOW AND THIS MOVIE ALREADY BROKE MY DAMN BRAIN ALREADY!

I wish Youtube would load faster right now. Shit, I might make a trip to the college to use their comps to watch it or something. This is crazy!

I can already say this with absolute pride, that this will be the BEST movie of the summer for me! I am already plotting to hunt for the DVD of it here in the States. I need to seriously make a trip to Chinatown now. I have to find this movie!

I am surprised I still haven't brought the entire box set of Eureka 7 yet. Maybe I'll start off collecting the comics first when I am not so strapped for cash.

God frickin' damn! This movie is fucking wow already! This picture is so cute, btw!

I love how colorful Eureka 7 is. God, I do. Its so...vivid! XD

...wait, I think Anwar showed me the site of the artist behind Eureka 7 once. I need to ask for that link again~

Well, Bryan gave me the link to a movie theater chain here in NYC. I applied online for a job at the movie theater he works at since he said people just recently quit from there. I would have applied for a job closer to where I live but I don't mind traveling just a little since I know the chances of me getting a job there are pretty high.

Here's hoping I hear something back from them. If not, I plan to print out my resume at the college and do some heavy footwork this week.

Btw, it is HOT AS HELL in this damn apartment right now ~_~

I might go die somewhere in a bit.

Okay, I don't care if I am jumping on the bandwagon or not but if you got any issues with me showing some love to the King of Pop, then kindly scroll over this entry.

He was only fifty years old and Michael Jackson left such a strong impact in the entertainment world. He was the star vocalist of the Jackson Five when he was just a little boy and was crown the 'King of Pop' later in his career. Everyone used to admire MJ because he was such a successful individual but because of his success he also became one of the most controversial figures in entertainment.

People made fun of him, joked about his alleged fetish for children and even South Park did a spoof of him on their show.

However, despite all of the ill-mannered satire that plagued his name for the next few decades, MJ was still a renowned artist across the world.

I was really looking forward to him getting back on his feet with his next world tour but that wasn't meant to be.

As usual, I didn't wish my father a 'Happy Father's Day' primly because he doesn't deserve one. I successfully ignored every aspect of Father's Day down to the perfect T. I didn't want to hear a damn thing about it and I am glad I didn't.

A emo Dagger was sekirtly emo yesterday but that is now all in the past as far as I am concern.

Today I plan on doing my work out regime since its now officially summer. I swear, I lose the most weight during this time. /Remembering last summer~

Hopefully I won't get sidetrack by the net and stuff now that I am cutting back on computer time. This whole LJ stuff is an addiction, I swear...lol

In any case, I had a rather interesting dream last night that included mild-manner romance, drama, booze, demons and some random hot Asian guy(I have no fucking idea who he was.) Oh and a pizza shop. A pizza shop that apparently my dream family owned. Trippy. It had to be one of the weirdest dreams I had so far.

Hey [info]lady_kikyou, your birthday is coming up~ Are you excited? You are going to be one year younger on the 5th~ Everyone, get your birthday hugs ready for her. Icky...I am still a little groggy.

Instead of picking up Gintama again, I am reading the Wolf's Rain manga now.

I seen the manga but never read the manga until now. I like the art for the manga a little more than the anime art, just a little. I think the anime was very good but got wonky at the end when Lady Jaguara showed up. I am here reading the manga to see if I could get a better insight of Lord Darcia's character. I know he was the overall antagonist in the series but I don't think his goal of reviving Harmonia, his paralyzed lover, was ever clearly set up.

Anyways, it's pretty awesome. I wish I read the manga before watching the show.

The events unfolding in Iran is a terrible one. The people are being harmed and killed by the military for desiring freedom from that horrible dictator who stolen the election.

My heart bleeds for them for I could never imagine the fear and terror that these people are experiencing now. Yet despite this fear, many of these young protesters seem to be absolutely free from the fear of death.

They don't fear death, they fear the brutality of what they homeland will face in the future if President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad remains in power.

I have seen a lot of people here in the United States post up information about this incident within their blogs, facebooks, myspaces and twitter. It seems as if the entire world is taking the news within their own hands and no longer relying on shit like FoxNews or CNN. That's a welcomed change considering America's news outlets filters everything about a story before showing it to the public.
If you want the truth, you sometimes have to go to the source to find it and that is what people are doing by translating Farsi blogs and Twitter accounts talking about this uprising in Iran.

I can only hope that someone steps in and stops the military from attacking their citizens. From what I could see here on this flickr account, the Iranian military has no qualms about killing these determined men and women.

Still basking in the afterglow of yesterday's awesome, I've started working on Icaro for a bit last night. I stayed up a little too late and now I am tired as heck. Inking page one is going to be a pain, I want to see if there is anyway for me to do it faster but I doubt it. Then I got to use Photoshop to do the touch-ups and effects on these pages.

Its a lot of work, nearly a days worth of it. I'll will be posting this comic on my account here with Storm-Artists and probably Sheezyart since I already have a mini-fanbase there.

Storm-Artists is pretty small, which I like. I can't seem to grab a footing on DeviantArt because of how large it is. Too many people...

Ugh, I need to get my paid account back for this journal. I am down to 15 icons again and that sucks! I want my Dynasty Warrior transgender icons back~

Anyways, I am closing this off with a meme.

Okay, now that I am home (I sorta got caught in the rain earlier) I can add the second piece to this update.

The art professor really enjoyed my portfolio. We had a one on one session with her going through the works I have done in class. Of course I forgot to bring my smaller sketchbook with me today, that is because I preoccupied with being a grump earlier. Nevertheless, she said she really enjoyed working with me in the class and said it was really positive to have someone with drawing experience within the class room because apparently I inspired my other classmates to try harder.

It was pretty amazing to hear that since in Cooper Union, it was the stark OPPOSITE. The drawing classes at Cooper Union was sub par in the encouragement department since it was student-teachers teaching and only Jeff was the real teacher in the group.

The LaGuardia art department is very laid back unlike Cooper Unions and more forgiving from what I can tell. The professor really enjoyed with me and I enjoyed working with her since I am not as terrified about my art as I was before. She told me I should take either painting or 2D drawings or something next. I'll definitely look into it.

The best part was the hug at least. Daw! I got hugged~ The professor is really nice to say all that interesting bits about my works. She loves the fact that I started to feel comfortable with my art style and she can tell I do have anime influences in my work but she says its not *anime* per say. She says it's beyond the confines or the stereotype that anime has and she thinks its a very interesting art style that I am developing.

Just "Wow", dude. Who would have guessed she would have understood what I was doing even without me saying it?

I told her once that I usually draw anime but I didn't tell her about how I was trying to incorporate anime/cartoony style with a more refined sort of fine arts motif.

That was probably the most awesome compliment I've gotten about my work in a long time.

Gotta admit that made my day.

The history exam was much easier than I expected it to be. Perhaps I did get some studying done yesterday but could only remember it during the test. I finished the exam so quickly that I had to wait for a few others to finish before I left.

I added a few folks today on Facebook to keep contact. I hate social networking sites, lol hypocritical, but I think I may keep Facebook around to keep it. Myspace is dull.

I have no idea what to this summer. I sort of have the idea of just finding a job and working during the summer but now I am wondering if I should take a class or not.

I am a little bored already now that class is over, yeah I know that is ironic to hear considering I complain about everything.

However, I want to keep myself busy since I practically have nothing to do these days. I would kill for an XBOX360 right now, kill for a valid excuse to leave the net for awhile. I've decided to keep in contact with Myra, a classmate from art class, she added me on Facebook.

Surprisingly, she sort of have the same bad home life as I have. It seems she too is stuck taking care of her elderly grandmother and goes through a similar tough time as I do. We sort of chatted forever in the class today since it was portfolio review day. Maybe we can hang out with the other girl, Megan, who is also pretty cool.

We are adding each other on Facebook. Oh and btw~ They happen to be Kingdom Hearts fan and they love Axel!

Kind of cool. I didn't they they were gamers. In anycase, I need to study for this history exam but I think I subconciously got it under wraps.

Just hope this guy passes me since I am sure the art professor will. (I'll explain more what happened with the art professor in a little bit.) Its not bad news, either...

Infact, its pretty empowering. Something I needed to hear...
